Lower taxes, greater accountability, protecting your freedoms and shrinking the size of government are my focus. Serving my constituents is my passion.
My consistent conservative voting record does, however, come at a price. Each time I stand up to special interest groups who seek to increase taxes, establish bans on legal products or push to compromise our safety, my opponents receive donations from these people focused on silencing the voice of the common man. I can fight against this, but it is ultimately you--the loyal voters--that decide whose voice is in office.
As the Metro Councilman for the 25th District, I have worked every day to improve our community. Since the inception of Metro Government, I am the only council person with a perfect record of attendance for Council meetings and I intend to continue this dedication to public service.
I actively support increased government transparency and accountability through LouisvilleCheckbook.com, an on-line checkbook to show how your tax dollars are being spent, an anonymous tip line to report fraud and abuse and voted for a much stronger ethics ordinance.
I ask for your help so that I may represent the good people of this community in the future. In 2006, a year in which Republicans were dealt setbacks, I was able to win re-election in a district with fewer than twenty-five percent registered Republicans. I believe this shows my ability to approach issues in a bipartisan way and bring together people of various party affiliations on common issues we hold important.
Your support will allow me the opportunity to counter the attacks from my liberal opponent and the outside interest groups that will seek to put in place another advocate for unchecked power, unlimited spending and restrictive ordinances.
